Creation of Unexplored Molecular Skeletons Based on Organofluorine Chemistry
Although organofluorine compounds are rarely found in nature, their applications span a wide range, from pharmaceuticals to functional materials. This is due to the unique properties of fluorine atoms not seen in other elements (the highest electronegativity of all elements, the formation of extremely strong C-F bonds, and a small atomic radius). On the other hand, due to these unique characteristics, we are tackling the following research themes while elucidating the specificity of organic fluorine atoms using existing reaction methods:
To carry out these studies, natural convection ovens are utilized to ensure the use of sufficiently dried glassware. Organic synthesis reactions are stirred using magnetic stirrers, and oil baths are used when heating is required. For the removal of solvents under reduced pressure after the reaction, rotary evaporators, diaphragm pumps, pressure control units, water baths, and low temperature circulators (chillers) are used. Furthermore, freeze dryers are also utilized when removing high-boiling solvents under reduced pressure at low temperatures.
The first reason is the high reliability. Although this is based on my personal impression, I find that EYELA products are highly durable and can be used with confidence over long periods of time. While equipment that has been used for many years may occasionally require repairs, I appreciate that such cases are handled promptly and carefully. I am truly grateful for the quality of the after-sales service.
The second reason is the ease of operation. Laboratory equipment is used by individuals with varying levels of experience, from undergraduate students to faculty members. If the operation is complicated, inexperienced users may not become familiar with the equipment, which can lead not only to experimental failure but also to equipment malfunction or even accidents. In this respect, EYELA products are intuitive and easy to use, which I consider to be a significant advantage, as they allow anyone to operate them safely and with confidence.
Some of our units have been in use for over 10 years, and we are very satisfied with their durability and ease of operation. We also expect the same level of quality from any products we may introduce in the future.
